Now that you’re close to hosting, it’s time to make the outside of your home look as warm and inviting as the inside.

Here are some tips for giving guests the chance to enjoy making their grand entrance:
• Sweep the porch and change any light bulbs that may have burned out.
• Make sure you have environmentally-friendly ice melt on hand and keep the walk to your front door from getting slippery.
• Use a boot tray or have a neat stack of towels by the front door where guests enter so they can take off their boots and keep your floor clean.
• Few enjoy cleaning windows, but they are an important part of a beautiful home. Clean windows so fingerprints and smudges don’t cloud the glow of your home. Clean them when the sun is shining so you’re sure to get off all the grime. Spray crumpled newspaper with equal parts white vinegar and water. Rub the newspaper in a circular motion and wipe the window dry with a clean sheet of newspaper for a streak-free shine.
